From Laura Clark…
“Amazing!” That’s the word to describe my experience with Dr. Brandon Johnson. Before my hip scope, I couldn’t do much of anything. I was used to working out, one and a half hours a day, seven days a week.
I am a former dancer and golfer. I love to work out, and stay fit. I experienced pain in my hip for 3 to 4 months, before I decided that I had to do something! I had instant relief after my hip scope.
After six weeks of physical therapy, I was able to gradually get back into the gym and even started running. I feel great now, thanks to Dr. Johnson! He is AMAZING! I’ve never had a doctor text me and check up on me, to see how I was doing! I was very impressed! His staff is also incredible. I highly recommend Dr. Johnson!
Laura received three state champion golf titles and was a collegiate dancer while competing in pageants.
From Allyson House…
My son, Will House, was named, ” National Football Foundation’s College Player of The Year,” in June 2015. He is an offensive lineman, for Southern Nazere University. When he tore his labrum in his hip, we were afraid his promising football career would soon be over.
We knew he needed a hip surgery. Minute by minute, we contemplated surgery. However, it was in the middle of the season, and we decided to wait, because we knew he was up for All American of the Year. He was in constant pain! He played right through it though. It was very painful and very emotional for all of us. Dr. Johnson performed a hip arthroscopy on Will. This procedure was a hip preservation, and without it, Will would have a constant battle with pain. The procedure will enhance his life and avoid a hip replacement. After the surgery, Will grew half an inch taller and is now 6’5. The recovery was challenging, but Will is very disciplined and did exactly what Dr. Johnson said to do. He did his rehab. by the book! After three days, he was pain-free and could run after two months. He is back on the football field, playing the sport he loves!
I also want to say that the staff was awesome! Since, I was a mom, who lived out of state, I was a nervous wreck. Courtney went over and beyond the call of duty. She always got back with me, with an immediate response. I could totally rely on the staff. They told me that no problem was too small and that I could call anytime…and I did! I cannot put into words what Dr. Johnson and his staff mean to me and my family! If you want a great doctor and be pain free…call Dr. Brandon Johnson!
From Ivey Lawson…
I tore my labrum and had boney impingement. I was in a lot of pain for several years. I’ve always been a very active person. I got to the point, that I couldn’t even sit in class, or go to the movies. I love to swim, bike and run. My experience with Dr. Brandon Johnson has been “LIFE CHANGING!!” I immediately felt better, right after my surgery. Within one week of my hip scope, I was pain-free! I can’t say enough about how wonderful Dr. Johnson is. He always took time to answer my four thousand questions and I never felt rushed. He took time with me. He even followed up with me, the day of my surgery! You can tell he cares about his patients. I am so thankful for Dr. Johnson…He gave me back my life!
From Shavonna Yohe Allen…
I feel like I have my life back, thanks to Dr. Johnson! I have had problems with my hip since I was five years old. At seven years of age, I was diagnosed with a rare disease called Ehlers-Danlos. I am 26 now and I have seen so many doctors. Most doctors have turned me away because they couldn’t help me. I have been to four surgeons in San Diego, California, two at McBride and then finally Dr. Johnson.
After I had my second son, 18 months ago, my pain became unbearable. I couldn’t walk without a cane. I had to move to Oklahoma, because I fell with my youngest son and I needed their help. I couldn’t get up and down. I couldnt play with my son on the floor.
After my surgery with Dr. Johnson, I felt a thousand times better! I can’t believe it. It’s amazing! I can play with my son and walk out into the field with him. LIFE IS SO MUCH BETTER! Dr Johnson is such a blessing. He listens and cares about his patients. He keeps you informed. I feel like I could ask him anything. The staff was real sweet, polite and helpful. My whole family was impressed with Dr. Johnson and his staff. He’s amazing. We think he’s a “Miracle Worker!”
From Katie Richardson…
As an active soccer player for the last 18 years, I had finally run out on my luck! Playing indoor soccer I fractured my fibula and tore the ligaments in my ankle. I needed a plate and some screws/pins to allow my bone to heal and for proper mobility. I was referred to Dr. Brandon Johnson by the Urgent Care center that saw me, but I am SO glad I was fortunate enough to become his patient.
Dr. Brandon Johnson allowed me to ask as many questions both pre- and post-op. I never felt rushed, ignored, or unimportant. His staff takes great care in making the billing and insurance process run smooth and effectively. He is punctual, communicates effectively, and addressed all my concerns. I had two surgeries with Dr. Johnson in the span of about 4 months and was so pleased with my patient care. His nurse staff, and anesthetist were of exceptional quality, I even received a get-well card post operation from those involved in my care. That note, along with my overall experience showed me that Dr. Johnson and staff personally invest in each and every patient. After seeing how badly I had injured myself, I couldn’t believe my post op X-rays. He went above and beyond my expectations of patient care and reconstructing my bone. I’m humbled and grateful to have had Dr. Johnson as part of my experience and by my side every step of the way. He made the difference in me questioning how I would be able to walk, to knowing that under his care, I will be able to return to sports and perform as I had before my injury. I cannot thank you enough for taking the time and effort to provide the highest level of care.
From Lisa P…
“Dr. Johnson is a great doctor who wants the best for his patients! I have never been treated by a doctor who made me feel like my case truly mattered! I am doing great! It feels great to e moving again!!”
From Kara Hammons…
This is a photo of my son Jess with Coach McAlester taken yesterday while competing in the OSSA 2A baseball State Tournament. 8 months ago we didn’t know if he would be able to run again let alone play competitively baseball.
After almost 2 years of suffering, several misdiagnosis, a few Dr.’s and missed opportunities, we were fortunate enough to meet Dr. Brandon Johnson at O.S.S.O. He preformed femoroplasty, actabularplasty labrum repair, iliopsoas fractional lengthening. I’m unsure if the spelling and terminology is accurate but I do know I’ll be eternally grateful to Dr. Johnson as well as Gary Gibson for the referral to the clinic. I’ve never in my life had dealings with a doctor or clinic as task organized as this…It’s truly unreal. I’m so grateful and strongly recommend, that if anyone else needs an orthopedic doctor, they will go straight to Dr. Brandon Johnson.
From Laura Baldwin…
My name is Laura Baldwin and I live in the small town of Wister Oklahoma. My daughter Jessa damaged her knee during a basketball game the last week of November 2014. The following day I tried to make a Dr apt with our local physician and we were told we would have to wait for an opening. A week later Jessa was able to see the doctor. He then told us we would have to wait for our insurance to approve an MRI and they would call us when that happened. After waiting another week, a friend told us about Dr. Brandon Johnson at Oklahoma Sports Science Orthopedics. I called that morning and they told us we could come in that day.
After a quick four hour drive, we made it, and saw Dr. Johnson. He sent us to get an MRI and we had our results the next day. Meanwhile we still had not heard from our local physician. We scheduled the surgery with Dr. Johnson for her torn ACL and made the trip back to OKC for her surgery. While it may seem a little extreme to use a doctor that is four hours away, I would not think twice if one of my other children needed his help.
We do not have the kind of heath care in our area that we received in OKC. Dr. Johnson took excellent care of my daughter & even called personally that night to check on her. She is still doing her physical therapy and anxiously awaiting her release from Dr. Johnson so that she can get back on the ball court. We highly recommend Dr. Johnson, and his staff, who went above & beyond for the care of my daughter.
From Cherie Clarkson…
I recently had a ski injury and was referred to Dr. Brandon Johnson for surgery. He took the time to explain everything, was open for questions and never made us feel put down for those concerns. He went above and beyond in alleviating my fears in his caring attitude. He even took time to get to know us a bit. I felt very well cared for. His staff was great and made me feel important..almost like family.
I have such huge goals in my business and plans for starting an orphanage in Nairobi Kenya that I needed the best help available for full recovery to accomplish these goals. I am now healing well with no infection or complications! I cannot thank you enough.
From Travis Morris…
I had a back surgery in 2011 that left me debilitated, and in constant pain. I couldn’t even walk standing straight. After Dr. Johnson performed my hip surgery, I am able to walk normally, without pain, and even exercise with my son. I couldn’t be happier with the service and the people I have met here.

Football injury leads Miller to orthopedic field
By Jim Powell
An injury suffered by a former Yukon High School football player led him to work in the field of orthopedic surgery at a private Oklahoma City hospital. Dr. Brandon Johnson grew up in Yukon, graduating from YHS in 2000. He played defensive back and was on the team that was second in the state for the 1998 season. “I was just big enough to play football but not so big that I wasn’t getting hurt all the time,” he quipped. “That’s actually how I ended up being an orthopedic surgeon.”
Johnson was injured his senior year and had to have surgery on his shoulder. That’s when he met his future partner in orthopedic surgery at Oklahoma Sports Science and Orthopedics, at N.W. 63rd and Broadway Extension, where he works now.
“He fixed my shoulder and we hit it off and I got a job working with him in college,” Johnson said. “He encouraged me to be an orthopedic surgeon; sort of got me set on that track.” Johnson attended the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and did his residency in orthopedic surgery at the OU Health Sciences Center.
The former Miller also spent a year in Los Angeles in order to practice sports medicine, a sub-specialty that involves the care of athletes and minimally invasive surgery such as knee reconstruction and hip arthroscopy. He spent that year gaining sub-specialty knowledge in sports medicine because he wanted to “take care of athletes” and while there Johnson picked up some world class experience. “The year that I spent in Los Angeles was focused on taking care of professional soccer players like the U.S. men’s national team,” Johnson said of the experience that also included the care of two professional Los Angeles soccer teams.
It may be 14 years since Johnson roamed the defensive backfield on the Miller football team but the “apple doesn’t fall far from the tree” as his nephew, current YHS senior Tucker Doyle, has been a starter on the Miller squad the past three years.
